18/05/2010 - Club ride open to all May 23 - Ashridge

This months club ride comes a week earlier than normal as it’s May bank holiday next week.  On Sunday we’ll be taking in the delights of Ashridge Common and Ivinghoe Beacon lead by John Brooks.  We don’t normally ride this area, but the scenery is stunning and the Ashridge Estate should be in perfect condition for mountain biking.

As usual there are two rides being run.  The Club Classic is suited to experienced riders, meets at 9.15am for a 9.30am start and will cover 20 miles and three hours of the ups and downs of the area. The Club ‘Lite’ is an easier ride suited to less experienced or recreational riders and will cover about 12 miles in 2 hours.  The ride meets at 9.45am for a 10am start.  Both rides conclude at about 12.30am after which we’ll be going to the local pub ‘Martins Pond’ for a beer and some food.  Everyone is welcome. The ride starts and finishes in Potten End.

There is plenty of parking in the village.  Meet on the green opposite the pub. bit.ly/bPgUFI
