11/06/2010 - Paul Lasenby takes the honours in round 3 of the Leisure Wheels Summit XC Series
Despite some heavy rain before the start, a strong field turned out to contest round 3 of the Leisure Wheels Summit Series at Lotts Wood, Hyde Heath.
Paul Lasenby (High Wycombe CC) held off Eric Pettit (TZR) to take the chequered flag and win the Male Expert and Elite category.
Roy Sheppard (WDMBC/Beyond) finished strongly in the Masters Category with Mike Chappell crossing the line in second position. Another close battle saw Rick Fetherston (VC10) just holding off last year's Veterans champion Adrian Parry (WDMBC/Beyond).
Jonathan Cosh (Tpi) continued to dominate the Fun category and made it three wins in a row. Clare Muir riding for the series sponsor, Leisure Wheels, took the honours in Female Fun. Lastly the youth riders showed some great skill in the sticky conditions with Joe Broadhead riding in the colours of the Summit/On 2 Wheels Devo Team coming home in the lead in the U16 category recording some fast lap times on the way.
The next round in the five-race series will take place on Wednesday 14th July.
