28/12/2009 - Summit MTB is looking forward to celebrating its fifth birthday in 2010

Summit MTB is looking forward to celebrating its fifth birthday in 2010 and is taking exciting steps forward in the new year.
The Chiltern's mountain bike club is embarking on a major recruitment drive to boost its membership from 130 to over 200 during the course of the year ahead.

A new expanded committee will put into action an increase in the club's core activities. There will be more weekly rides which for the first time will be graded to encourage new members to take part. A greater focus on social events will also be a major part of the club's expansion plans.
Our main event of the year is the new 'Summit 65' enduro from Princes Risborough, run in partnership with Trailbreak  on Saturday, 24th April. It will be the first time the club has been involved in organising a mass participation event.

The Go Ride section for young riders aged 6 to 16 years will be expanded with regular rides in Swinley and Ashridge forests alongside monthly skills training and racing sessions.
The coaching initiative started at the end of 2009 will continue to grow thanks to a new CTC-backed training organisation set up by Andy Smith and Simon North. Members and new recruits will have access to skills training sessions to help them get the best from their bikes.
Summit Racing will run its popular five-round short course XC series on Wednesday evenings from May to July in Lotts Wood near Amersham and it will be hoping to once again attract over 100 racers at each event.

There has never been a better time to join Summit MTB. Membership costs £35 for a family, £20 adult an £10 for riders aged 6 to 16 years old.
