GENERAL INFORMATION
On the night signing-on is from 18.00-19.15 with the course open for practice at 18.00 until 19.00. Racing starts at 19.30 and finishes around 20.45. Timekeeping and lap scoring is done using the latest version of the popular Racemate software. Results and points will be posted here the following day. All races will be in daylight hours although lights may be useful during the later stages of both the opening and final rounds.
Other than Youth races, all categories race to a timed format. Elite & Expert, Vets, Masters, Sport, Junior and Female Racing have approximately a 40-minute race plus one lap. Male and Female Fun race for approximately 30 minutes plus one lap. A bell will ring when the overall race leader crosses the start/finish line close to the 40-minute mark, then all riders who then cross the line are also given one lap to go by the bell. The winner of each category is the first rider to complete the final lap and cross the line.
Points are awarded to the top 10 finishers in each category as follows: 1st 12pts; 2nd 10pts; 3rd 8pts; 4th 7pts; 5th 6pts; 6th 5pts; 7th 4pts; 8th 3pts; 9th 2pts; 10th 1pt. Points from all five rounds count towards your final score. Trophies are awarded to the category winners at the final round on 5th August.
Entry costs just £10 per rider and £5 for Young Racers. Entry must be made before 19.15 on the night of the race. Please have the correct change with you when you sign on. A hard shell helmet must be worn. Two paramedics and an ambulance attend.
In addition to Summit’s Pre Entry system competitors can enter the five-round series in advance up to the Friday beforehand by logging on to www.mbsawebsite.com
