Just three young riders from the club competed at the HSBC National XC MTB Series Round 2, held on the closest iteration of what was the full London 2012 Olympic course. Katie was first to race on the Saturday on a shortened (but still very hilly!) course. She rode fantastically to keep up with the older girls to finish 4th. Sunday dawned with freezing temperatures and a mix of sunshine and showers, but luckily stayed dry for the early racers. Will took on a strong U16 field and finished 33rd after 4 tough laps of the technical and VERY hilly circuit. Lucy, coming back after more than five weeks in a wrist splint, lost time on the second lap, but finished strongly in 11th place and was pleased to ride some Hadleigh technical features she'd never attempted before. Not bad for a first National Series race!
